
The Helix is Telrad Connegy's fully
integrated station Voice over IP (VoIP) solution. By simply connecting
a Helix Gateway between any existing Telrad Connegy Avanti(TM) station
and the Public Internet or a company's Intranet, remote offices become
connected to - and integrated into - a centralized Telrad Connegy
system. Once connected, the remote Avanti stations operate as though
located within the actual centralized system, boasting all of the
advanced features programmed into the main Telrad Connegy system.
These features may include DSS/BLF, ACD, System Speed Dial and Station
Toll Restriction.
Helix also can reduce the cost of networking a remote branch office.
Until now, if a company wanted to network together remote systems,
the purchase of a complete PBX, stations, networking cards and a
point-to-point digital connection from one location to another would
be required. Further, this network can be very limited - only supporting
voice mail, extension dialing, paging and extension name across the
network.
Now, because of the advanced infrastructure of IP, software applications,
such as the Unite system's control software, do not have to be known.
IP simply transports the data end to end, turning the Helix a powerful
networking tool.
