Site Networking/IP Solutions Overview
By
networking your various sites, you can share the common resources
of a host system including the Operator, Voice Mail, and outbound
trunks. This will go a long way to control costs, improve inter-office
communications, and standardize communication flow throughout the
office.
The standard methods of networking are point-to-point circuits,
Tie Lines, and voice over frame relay. Telrad is compatible with
any of these options. The newest method of networking is over the
Internet. This is an area where Telrad truly leads the pack.
The Telrad Connegy Helix, IP Hub provides connection between facilities
using the IP. At the host site an AIP card is installed in the Telrad
Digital PBX system and assigned a static IP address. At the remote
site, the Helix Hub is installed to support up to sixteen Avanti
telephones at the remote site. The helix is also provided with an
IP address.
Once installed and programmed, the remote Avanti telephone is simply
an extension of the host PBX and operates like any other extension
in the system. It has access to every feature, can be programmed
from the host switch, and may even be a remote ACD agent.
While other systems can come close to this capability, Helix rises
above the crowd by having the ability to extend a local number
from the remote site to the host PBX where it may be programmed
from ringing and dialing access as needed. In addition, the Helix
application allows a single line adapter card to be installed in
the base of the Avanti telephone to support an analog device such
as fax, modem or cordless telephone. Telrad is the only system
that supports these capabilities.
This capability places you in the position to standardize your communications
requirements throughout the organization. It allows you to set up
a remote office in a matter of minutes as opposed to weeks, and it
gives you the opportunity to set up a remote test market without
contracting additional services from the local utility.
